LTEN Mourns the Loss of Former Board President Frank Cirillo

The Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network (LTEN) is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Francis (Frank) Cirillo, a distinguished member, former board president and 2019 LTEN Hall of Fame inductee. Frank passed away on Jan. 2, 2024, at 89, leaving a legacy of leadership and significant contributions to the life sciences industry.

Frank was a charismatic and dedicated professional, with a vast career spanning from a licensed pharmacist to management positions in the pharmaceutical industry, notably serving as director of sales training for Dorsey and Sandoz Pharmaceuticals (now Novartis). His impact on the professional development of sales professionals and advocacy for pharmacist roles in healthcare were hallmarks of his distinguished career.

After 35 years at Sandoz, Frank founded Pharmacy Affairs, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to industry consulting.

His leadership extended to serving as president of the National Society of Pharmaceutical Sales Trainers (NSPST, now LTEN) and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) Foundation.

In 2019, LTEN recognized Frank’s outstanding contributions by inducting him into the LTEN Hall of Fame, a testament to his lasting impact on pharmaceutical sales training.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 1-3 p.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 NJ-35, Wall Township, NJ. Instead of flowers, contributions to the University of Rhode Island (URI) College of Pharmacy or a charity of choice are appreciated.

The LTEN community expresses heartfelt condolences to all those affected by Frank’s loss, including his daughter Alison Quinn, an active member of LTEN, a member of the LTEN Advisory Council and director of U.S. medical affairs training for Kite Pharma. Frank was a remarkable individual whose legacy will continue to inspire us in life sciences training and education.
