Join Us in Celebrating the Field Trainer Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations, Amy and Mark!

Amy Lang

Associate Training Manager, Astellas Pharma US

About Amy’s Submission:

Project InNOVAte was an overhaul of the new-hire training program for Astellas Community Specialties through the first two years of an employee’s experience at Astellas, from onboarding, Nova Core, and Nova Advanced.

We have several different phases to the learning journey that cover the first two years of learning and scaffold employee training. The goal was to evaluate our new-hire training program in its previous live format, and its virtual format, and develop a new hybrid version to achieve cost savings and other efficiencies while ensuring a best-in-class learning experience. The re-design included modifications in product training, critical selling skills, soft skills and new content around growth mindset.

Mark Schuster

Senior Executive Sales Specialist, Teva Pharmaceuticals

About Mark’s Submission:

Designed and led a pilot project testing Veeva CRM Engage Meeting, a platform used to facilitate virtual calls between Teva sales representatives and physicians. Led a team of colleagues from IT, Legal & Compliance, Sales Marketing, Sales Training, and Operations to test the technology, develop needed resources, and create the structure of the training program. Trained the pilot group of 10 reps to use the platform and then conducted a series of real-world simulations with volunteer physicians. Used rep surveys to understand their experience with the technology and identify gaps. Conducted post-call interviews with participating physicians to get a better sense of the customer experience and how it could be improved. After 4 months of intense work—in addition to his primary role—supplied leadership with the data and insights needed to successfully rollout Veeva Engage company-wide.
