Company named to 2019 Inc. 5000 ranking

Boston, MA [August 14, 2019] — Illuminate, the Boston-based developer of innovative custom clinical sales training programs for the life science industry (www.illuminate.net), has been named to Inc. magazine’s Inc. 5000, an annual ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

“This recognition marks an exciting milestone for Illuminate,” says the company’s founder and president, Shaun McMahon. “It’s a direct result of the dedication and talent of our entire team, and their commitment to always providing the very best product to our clients. We’re thrilled by Inc.’s acknowledgement of our growth.”

The list spotlights U.S.-based, privately held businesses that have achieved a minimum of $2 million annual earnings in 2018, after having earned at least $100,000 in 2015. Established in 1982, the Inc. list has included many notable businesses over the years, including Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, 7-Eleven, LinkedIn, Timberland, Zipcar, and more.

Illuminate was established on August 2, 2004, with McMahon as its sole employee. Thanks to 15 years of hard work and a growing reputation for stellar client service and fresh, innovative products, the firm has grown to an award-winning team of 20.

“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have followed so many different paths to success,” says Inc. editor in chief James Ledbetter. “There’s no single course you can follow or investment you can take that will guarantee this kind of spectacular growth. But what they have in common is persistence and seizing opportunities.”

Not only have the companies on the 2019 Inc. 5000 been very competitive within their markets, the list itself shows staggering growth compared to its predecessors. The 2019 Inc. 5000 achieved an astounding three-year average growth of 454 percent, as well as a median rate of 157 percent. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $237.7 billion in 2018, accounting for 1,216,308 jobs over the past three years.

The annual Inc. 5000 event honoring the companies on the list will be held on Oct. 10 to Oct. 12, 2019, at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. As always, speakers include some of the greatest innovators and business leaders of our generation.
