FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, ILLUMINATE RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF AMERICA’S FASTEST GROWING PRIVATE COMPANIES

Company named to 2020 Inc. 5000 ranking; three-year earnings growth soars by 76%

Boston, MA [August 12, 2020] — Once again, Illuminate has been named to Inc. magazine’s Inc. 5000, the nationally recognized, annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. The Boston-based developer of innovative custom clinical sales training programs for the life science industry was first named to the Inc. 5000 ranking in 2019. The firm’s three-year revenue growth, which factored into the rankings, increased by 76%.

“This past year has posed unprecedented challenges, and I’ve been deeply impressed by the ingenuity, hard work, and commitment demonstrated by our entire team, all of which have contributed to our continued growth,” says Illuminate founder and president Shaun McMahon. “My congratulations and deep appreciation to everyone at Illuminate, and thanks to Inc. for this recognition.”

The Inc. 5000 ranking, available at www.inc.com/inc5000, spotlights U.S.-based, privately-held businesses that achieved a minimum of $2 million in annual earnings last year, after having earned at least $100,000 in 2016. First established in 1982, the Inc. list has been called “America’s Entrepreneurial Benchmark.”

“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 come from nearly every realm of business,” says Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “From health and software to media and hospitality, the 2020 list proves that no matter the sector, incredible growth is based on the foundations of tenacity and opportunism.”

Methodology
The 2020 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2016 and 2019. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2016. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2019. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2016 is $100,000; the minimum for 2019 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.
