Roanoke, VA January, 13, 2016  ̶ Carrie Schaal, an AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals director and life sciences industry leader with more than 25 years’ experience, has taken a seat on the LTEN Advisory Council, LTEN announced today. Schaal is replacing Christopher Deluzio, executive director of commercial learning and development for AstraZeneca, after his expanded global responsibilities led him to leave the council.

Schaal is director of U.S. specialty care, commercial learning and development, for AstraZeneca. Her appointment to the LTEN Advisory Council, a group of business leaders that supports and helps operationalize initiatives and programs for the LTEN Board of Directors, begins immediately.

Schaal is an intensely motivated and accomplished training and sales leader with a focus on life-long learning, innovation and team development.  She has more than 25 year of experience in the industry, providing strategic planning and practical implementation of initiatives that communicate vision, build relationships and create innovations. Schaal is an active member of LTEN, the Healthcare Business Women’s Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

"On behalf of the Board and the Advisory Council, I’d like to thank Chris Deluzio for his service to LTEN. He remains an LTEN member and will continue to be a valued colleague,” said Dawn Brehm, executive director of LTEN. “We’re also excited to welcome Carrie, who we know will be a productive asset to the Advisory Council. Her enthusiasm and energy will help her contribute to the council’s mission and make her a reliable resource for the Advisory Council, the Board of Directors and all LTEN members.”
