LTEN Is Social — Are You?

By Dawn Brehm

Life sciences trainers are social beings. For the most part, we are collaborating with teammates, facilitating with groups of learners or working cross-functionally with colleagues in various departments. All that social activity is focused inward to our current companies. The newly updated LTEN mission statement clearly spells out that we, as an organization, are about networking, sharing collective knowledge and collaborating in communities of practice. For LTEN to meet its mission and provide value, it’s essential for you — as members — to engage on a social level.

LTEN has updated many tools to make engaging easier and quicker than ever. Recently introduced at members’ request, LTEN On-the- Go, the LTEN member app ensures that the latest offerings, news, LTEN Focus on Training magazine articles and our event calendar are just a phone tap away. Search the App Store or Google Play and look for LTEN On-the-Go and download today. Keep your LTEN resources in your hand always!

SocialLink is another app that allows members to connect with questions, join communities of practice specific to their interests and get feedback from more than 1,900 member peers. From the LTEN On-the- Go app home page, you can click right over to LTEN SocialLink, a members-only chat feature that can be accessed two ways: Directly from the LTEN On-the-Go app or from a freestanding SocialLink app. Find the SocialLink app by typing SocialLink (one word) in the App Store search bar. SocialLink requires a sign-in with your LTEN log-on credentials to ensure this tool is for members-only.

The biggest LTEN social and learning event of the year is the LTEN Annual Conference, taking place June 11-14 at the beautiful JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix, AZ. The conference is an excellent opportunity to expand your personal network, learn from your peers and explore while socializing in the learning village with over 75 supplier partners. The conference this year will feature an enhanced focus on technology, both as an enabler of training and as a tool to enhance the conference experience.

Be sure to check page 17 for the cover story article in this issue by Vicki Colman of LEO Pharmaceuticals, on getting the most from the conference. It features some great tips for planning ahead from LTEN members who have experienced the event before. It’s not too early to begin thinking about maximizing your conference experience and to take advantage of early bird rates.

And also check out the infographic accompanying this article, on page 13, to find more information on how to make sure you’re maximizing your LTEN investment by taking advantage of our connection opportunities.
