Teaching and Reinforcing Skills with Tabletop Games, Video Games and Simulations

Friday, November 2, 2018 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM EDT

The ability to connect with learners and guide the transfer of knowledge is the greatest opportunity of education, and also the greatest challenge. Whether in-person or virtual, classrooms are filled with individuals who share a collective need to learn and practice skills, but often require different approaches and tools to reach that goal.

Adding a level of engagement, fun and deliberate practice can be a “gamechanger” when it comes to training. Studies have shown the value of engagement to results, and few things capture attention more than combining engaging game play with targeted learning outcomes.

Join us for this LTEN webinar, as author, professor and instructional game design expert Dr. Karl Kapp speaks with you and demonstrates the value and potential of gaming as a training tool.

At this webinar, you will learn:

  • How a card game reinforces sales skills.
  • How a board game teaches reps to conduct a “total office call.”
  • How a 3D video game teaches sales skills.
  • How a simulation replaced role-play at one company, leading to a 12% increase in sales.
