Bonus Focus - LTEN Timeline: Mapping the Past to Envision the Future

By Tim Sosbe

You've no doubt heard a version of this quote before: Those who don’t remember their history, are doomed to repeat it. That may or may not be completely true, but the sentiment is real … by knowing where we've been, we get a clearer idea of where we’re going.

It’s been just five months since SPBT was rebranded as LTEN, the Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network. That may seem like a mere blip on the radar screen of time, but in reality that new name marks the culmination of a 43-year history of representing the needs of life sciences trainers. From the early days of the organization through today, LTEN has grown as required, changed as needed and evolved as necessary.

Now, as we stand on the verge of a new year, it’s a good time to reflect on where we’ve been, and envision where we’re going. It’s time to think about time, in other words.

Hopefully this will help. LTEN now has available an organizational timeline that can help you appreciate the change and growth of your network, and to envision what lies ahead. Now available on the LTEN “About Us” page, the timeline shows the high points of the 43-year journey to where we are. You can also view the timeline here.

Please take a moment to visit, to look back, to reflect and to think about the future.
