Norma Piggott of Amgen has been named to the LTEN Board of Directors. Piggott is replacing Corey Padovano of Gilead Sciences, who left the board after taking a non-training position at Gilead.
The LTEN Board of Directors is made up of life sciences training leaders who oversee all LTEN operations, events and publications, as they guide and manage the organization. Piggott’s appointment begins immediately.
As executive director, global commercial organization learning and performance, for Amgen, Piggott created and leads a team of learning and performance professionals charged with the development of more than 5,500 Amgen staff members. She began her life sciences career with Eli Lilly Canada and held various marketing and sales leadership roles before launching her international career heading up marketing for Lilly China. Piggott also provided strategic planning and launch preparation training and consulting to Lilly’s affiliates across South and Southeast Asia. She joined Amgen in 2007 in Switzerland and began leading the commercial learning and performance organization in 2014.
"Norma’s extensive experience from her more than 25 years in life sciences will be a strong asset to the LTEN Board, as will her perspective on international training," said Dawn Brehm, executive director of LTEN. "I would like to thank Corey for hiss active involvement on the board; his contributions to LTEN will be missed. Norma’s impressive background and unique experiences will be a good fit and will ultimately strengthen LTEN for all members."
